Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from families, individuals, and providers about how My Care Network works, how providers are verified, and how we handle your information.
General
What is My Care Network?+−
My Care Network is a free care navigation platform that brings verified healthcare, therapy, and home- and community-based service providers together in one place. Instead of making countless phone calls or digging through outdated directories, you can search, compare, and connect with providers who match your family's needs — all from one profile. My Care Network is a care navigation platform, not a healthcare provider, and does not deliver medical, therapeutic, or care services directly.
Is My Care Network really free for families?+−
Yes. Searching, creating an account, saving providers, and requesting to join a provider's waitlist are always free for families and individuals — there are no fees, subscriptions, or hidden costs, ever. Providers support the platform through a simple subscription, not by charging the families and individuals who use it.
Where does My Care Network operate?+−
My Care Network is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We are currently verifying providers in Minnesota, and we'll be expanding our verification process to additional states in due time. You can search publicly listed providers by city, state, or ZIP code to see who's available in your area.
Finding & Connecting with Care
What kinds of services can I find on My Care Network?+−
Our network includes providers across four major categories: Autism & Neurodevelopmental Services (including ABA, diagnostic evaluations, and early intervention), Therapy and Rehabilitation Services (speech, occupational, physical, and feeding therapy), Behavioral & Mental Health, and Home & Community Based Services (HCBS), such as PCA and CFSS.
Do I need an account or insurance to search for care?+−
No. You can search and browse publicly listed providers with no account and no insurance required. Creating a free account unlocks additional detail — full verified provider profiles, real credentials, and accurate waitlist information — and only takes a couple of minutes.
How do I connect with a provider or get on a waitlist?+−
Build one simple profile, then use it to request placement on any provider's waitlist directly through the platform. You only tell your story once — no repeating the same information across ten different phone calls or intake forms.
What happens after I submit a waitlist or connection request?+−
Your request goes directly to the provider you selected. My Care Network does not guarantee that a provider will accept you as a client, has current availability, or will respond within a particular timeframe — that relationship, and its timeline, is between you and the provider, governed by their own intake process. We recommend independently confirming fit and availability before finalizing any care arrangement.
Verified Providers & Trust
What does the "Verified Provider" badge mean?+−
A Verified Provider badge means My Care Network reviewed that provider's licensure, credentials, and business information — including checking it against public state licensing records — before they were listed. It reflects the outcome of that review at a point in time. It is not a guarantee, warranty, or endorsement of the quality, safety, or outcome of the care a provider delivers, and we encourage every family to independently evaluate whether a provider is the right fit.
How are providers verified?+−
Every provider completes a document and credential review. Providers operating from a physical location in higher-oversight categories — such as residential and housing services, home health agencies, and ABA or autism clinics — also complete an in-person site visit conducted by a trained verifier, using a checklist shared with the provider in advance. Telehealth-only and home-based providers complete a video verification call instead. Nothing about the visit process involves reviewing client records or protected health information.
Is My Care Network a healthcare provider?+−
No. My Care Network is a care navigation platform that helps you find and connect with independent healthcare, therapy, and home- and community-based service providers. We do not provide medical, therapeutic, or care services ourselves. Always consult a qualified professional for medical decisions.
Privacy & Security
Is my personal information private and secure?+−
Yes. We apply a HIPAA-aware approach across the platform, including encryption in transit, secure account authentication, and role-based access that limits who on our team can see sensitive information. My Care Network is not designed to store Protected Health Information (PHI) except in the specific circumstances covered by a signed Business Associate Agreement. See our Privacy Policy and HIPAA Compliance pages for full detail.
What information do I need to share to use the platform?+−
Creating a family or individual profile only requires basic information — not medical records, diagnoses, or detailed health history. We ask that you avoid entering names, medical record numbers, diagnoses, or other sensitive health information into our search bar or AI chat features; that information isn't needed to find and connect with the right provider.
For Providers
How do providers join My Care Network?+−
Provider onboarding runs through six phases: application submission, document upload, eligibility and credential review, site visit verification (where required), profile setup and activation, and go-live. The full process typically takes 7–14 business days, depending on how quickly documents and verification steps are completed.
Is there a cost for providers to be listed?+−
Providers join through a simple subscription — there are no per-referral fees. For current pricing and plan details, reach out to our Provider Relations team at info@mycarenetwork.com.
Do all providers have to complete an in-person site visit?+−
No. Site visits are required for higher-oversight categories operating from a physical location, such as residential and housing services, home health agencies, and ABA or autism clinics with a dedicated facility. Telehealth-only providers and those delivering services exclusively in clients' homes complete a video verification call instead, so there's no in-person visit required.
